Bajwa (Punjabi: ਬਾਜਵਾ (Gurmukhi); باجوہ (Shahmukhi)) is a Jat[1] surname and tribe name commonly found among the Sikhs, Muslims and Hindus of the Punjab region in India and Pakistan.[2][need quotation to verify]

They were labelled as Muslim Jats or Muslim Rajputs. In all these expressions, the Hindu ancestry received primacy over their religion. Some of the Muslim Jat clans were Awans, Bains, Bajwa, Khokhar, Kharal.
